I think I might be changing my mind about Obama?
I was against Obama primarily due to his whole list of political accomplishments being over a one year period. I still think that Biden reminds me of that politician who John Travolta was supposed to answer to in the movie Broken Arrow.
McCain bothers me in that he seems to want to spend government money on any of his whims and Arizona is really into those camera speeding tickets to rape its citizens of money.
I listened to an Obama interview last week and he sounded relaxed and intelligent and said that he does not believe that the government should be spending so much time and money on things like professional athletes using steroids with the crazy public hearings that are all for show. He might actually be a Democrat who could (if not turned back by the “old boys”) push towards a smaller more well-organized government.
What is more important to you, the debates and how they sound and look; Or do you essentially have your own issues that you research and try to find out how candidates fit into what you think is important?
How do you feel about these current events as they pertain to gender and human rights advocacy…?
A few sad events have been going on to start off the new year.. Firstly, it was reported recently that the son of actor John Travolta, Jett, died on Friday morning at only 16 years of age. He suffered from a rare illness called Kawasaki disease (pretty rare, especially in the West). This disease is quite difficult to diagnose and affects primarily young boys. The autopsy results are still pending, and it’s extremely uncommon for 16 year-olds to die from this entity, per se.

This got me thinking about primary pulmonary hypertension which is a horrific disease with a female predilection (female to male ratio is about 3:1).
Why do so many modern Feminists continue to argue that gender is a purely social construct when gender is so critical in determining one’s likelihood for having any number of illnesses? How can we properly evaluate patients for given diseases when the gender of the patient is a critical determinant in risk-stratification, i.e. gender is clearly biologically predetermined? This has very serious, practical consequences with respect to healthcare.
Secondly, I was watching Larry King LIve when he was interviewing the renown Palestinian human rights activist, Hanan Ashrawi, PhD who was discussing the tumultuous situation in Gaza. Dr. Ashrawi received her doctorate in literature from University of Virginia, USA, and although I tend to disagree with many of her opinions, she is extremely level-headed and thoughtful when she discusses human rights issues. Why wouldn’t modern Feminists spend their time as human rights activists as opposed to advocates for purely female rights, de facto? Shouldn’t human rights take precedence over the special interests of one gender (particularly in the West)?

Finally, how incredible was it to see undefeated Utah beat Alabama so handily at the Sugar Bowl 31-17 to finish 13-0 (and I don’t follow either team)?

Why are celebrities so troubled/sad and surrounded by bad influences & ppl who take it all too seriously?
I always notice this either on paparazzi shots/videos, interviews, award shows, news, wherever, that so many celebrities walk around aimlessly, not very happy, act like they are God or that what they’re doing is the center of the universe, it’s just SO important; they also seem to always have like 10000 other people surrounding them who are horrible people, you can even see it, who dont’ even care about the celebrities,…and want to use them, etc…yet the celebrities don’t see this at all.
What’s up with this whole Hollywood/celebrity scene? IT’s so….stupid, fake, and destructive. It’s like a whole buncha losers, doing drugs/drinking, and thinking that they’re the sh9t, when they look like the biggest messes ever.
I Just saw clips of AJ Mclean drunk, surrounded by these trashy sl8t women, who don’t carea bout him at all, and he can’t even tell the difference,
then we have Lindsay, Paris, even older celebrities like Tom Cruise go nuts every once in a while.
Also when you see photographs of them all, they all look so weird, troubled, withdrawn, crazy even. Look at pics of Katie Holmes, she looks like she just stepped outside of the mental ward. Or Madonna and her kid Lourdes,….conceited, withdrawn, unhappy, whatever.
Jennifer Lopez and her hubby look troubled too.
Then we have all these weird deaths of celebrities like John Travolta, suicides, all sorts of crazy things going on.
What the hell is WRONG with Hollywood?!?!?!?

i’m sick of tom and katie! what do you think about them, the baby picture and most of all scientologists.?
don’t get me wrong i like tom and katie. he makes great movie and i like his films. but since he started dating katie i think he has lost his adult hood. he’s acting like he just got his first piece of ass. is he acting or has he just lost his mind. swapping spit in public they way they do. ” get a room please ” . jumping up and down on sofa’s, giving dramatic interviews on good morning america, and oprah also with matt lauri of ” the today show “. talking about medication and brooke shield. hell, he must think he’s a doctor telling matt he knows nothing about meds and scientologly. i have never heard anybody talk about scientologly like tom except for lisa maria presley and john travolta and they make there comments and there done. but tom goes on and on and on until i’m sick of him when ever he opens his mouth. i think he needs to stick to making movie and stay out of the lime lights. and grow up!!

This is kind of crazy? Logical explanation? Help please?
So, I’ve had this weird infatuation with my celebrity crush for the past 3 years. I try to forget about him but I can’t. I’ve been having weird dreams about us more and more lately, in which we met in all of them. I’m getting older now, and I thought this was supposed to be a phase. But why isn’t going away? I’m not a crazy person, I swear. I have a boyfriend, (I’ve had 2) but something always gets in the way. (That could possibly be my commitment issues) It’s like everywhere I turn, he has to pop up! It’s so damn annoying. What do you think is wrong? Do you think I have to meet this ‘idol’? But I saw an interview where John Travolta’s wife said she knew she was going to marry John as soon as she saw his movie (which even I thought was a bunch of bologna.) Is this just a really long stage?
I’m not obsessed I swear. I’m a very normal, smart girl. That’s why I find this so odd! This is not normal behavior for me.
Matt:LOL If I told my bf he’d kill me. xD I’m not psycho man, I’m just confused for some reason.
And it’s a Jonas Brother. That’s all I’m saying.
Matt: Yeah, a lot of girls do, and yep I think this isn’t normal either. Why do you think I posted the question? lol
