Movies about Dancing are Timeless
There are some wonderful movies out there with a theme about dancing. They are timeless in nature even though they have been around for decades. When they are on TV those of us that have already seen them will watch them again and again. Those that are seeing them for the first time will be very impressed with them. There is just something magical about dancing that reels us in and gets out blood pumping faster!
Dirty Dancing is a movie with Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Gray. The story involves a determined young lady with all of the perks in life and her family going to a summer retreat where music and dancing are part of the program. She then meets the character of Swayze named Johnny who teaches dance.
She realizes that many people don’t have life as easy as her and she is willing to stand up for the ways in which they have been wronged. Of course this comes at the expense of her family being disappointed with some of her choices.
The movie has plenty of great dance moves for all of us to pick up on. It also have some great segments where Gray is trying to learn the right moves and we can all appreciate how trying those types of efforts can be for us. Of course Dirty Dancing is also a love story that everyone loves with the guy getting his girl in the end.
Who can forget the 80’s dance movie Footloose with Kevin Bacon? The theme song by Kenny Loggins is still played all the time on the radio and at dances. This movie involves a young man moving to a new location where his aunt and uncle are from. He stands out due to his loud music and his love for dancing. There is no dancing in that town as it was banned by the Reverend.
Footloose is also a great love story for the younger people to appreciate as well as about learning to stand up for yourself when you are struggling to fit in. There are rumors that Footloose is being remade though with Zack Effron from High School Musical stepping into that lead role. Only time will tell if this project is real or just one myth circulating on the internet.
Flashdance is another great hit movie with inspiring dancers doing all that they can in order to make that dream they have a reality. It gives you an insight into the fact that being a talented dancer isn’t always easy. There are many sacrifices to be made along the way. It also shows that there is plenty of hard work and dedication that goes into it. Professional dancers don’t just wake up one day with all the right moves to make it happen. Instead they have to be creative, take risks, and continue to work to make it all look like it should out there.
No mention of movies with dancing would be complete though if we didn’t bring some of John Travolta’s roles into the picture. In both Saturday Night Fever and Grease he shows us some amazing dance moves that have made him famous again and again. While most of his roles now don’t involve dancing it is often what we think of when we see this great performer.
Some of the best moves of the disco era came from Saturday Night Fever and some of you reading this even have a smile on your face as you recall doing those moves yourself back then. Even though the styles of dancing are varied in these movies, they are all timeless icons that you just can’t help but be drawn in by.

Don’t you tell me Donna Summers is not hot!Live on Disco Queen
Nothing brought disco to the attention of the public as the movie “Staying Alive” featuring John Travolta and his riveting moves. The disco movement started in 1971, but disco clubs didn’t start popping up until 1974. The first disco hit was “Never Can Say Goodbye” by Gloria Gaynor.
The early disco songs had a very slow tempo. Over time, the got faster and the length of the songs increased as well. The idea was to create songs a person could really move to. Just when they got going, the song ended. The majority of disco songs contain the word “dance” somewhere in the lyrics. The most popular disco song of all time is by Donna Summers. Lasting 17 minutes long, it takes about having an orgasm. Many disco songs contain sexual content. This made the music and the dancing even more appealing to the youth of that era. One hit wonders were very popular in disco music.
Many disco clubs were empty warehouses that had large spaces for groups of people to dance. The atmosphere included lights, DJ’s, disco balls, and colorful dance costumes. The freedom the disco music and moves gave people led to the market being flooded with new music. People couldn’t even grasp a new song before another was on top of it. They loved the freedom on expression and the undertone it gave about being sexual active without being in a long term relationship.
The disco craze was wild and well lived, but it died fast. By the early 80’s disco clubs were closing their doors due to lack of customers. Disco sucks bumper stickers began cropping up. It was apparent that society was ready for a new wave of music to take control. Hair bands with rock and roll power ballads took over the scene.
Disco found its way back on top it the 1990’s, including several remixes of old disco songs.

The absurdity of French squad Pierre Morel and Luc Besson have provided some of the most vivid and exhilarating action sequences caught on film. The team behind revenge fantasies Taken and District B13 return to France for their most polarizing film yet, From Paris With Love. Shot against a backdrop of a loosely-formed plot, their stories are merely used as an excuse to execute outlandish, over-the-top, borderline, laughable action scenes that are guaranteed to evoke reactions from viewers. Whether they are jaw-dropping or eye-rolling, their brand of action is truly a sight.
James Reece (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) works in the U.S. Embassy in Paris, France. Serving conversation points and meeting dignitaries may seem like an exciting job with tons of free espresso, but Reece has other, more dangerous ambitions; like being a super spy. Hidden from his bosses, Reece also works as an apprentice-level agent with duties that consist of flipping license plates for incoming super agents, planting bugs in high-level official’s offices and dropping everything to take calls from his mysterious handler. However, this life, for all the cloak-and-dagger busy-work, isn’t what he’s looking for. Reece wants action and fistfuls of it.
During a romantic rooftop dinner with his girlfriend Caroline (Kasia Smutniak), Reece finally gets the call he was waiting for: the big promotion. Well, maybe, if he can just pick up his new partner, who is currently being held up at French customs. Upon his arrival at the airport, Reece meets Charlie Wax (John Travolta), a loud-mouthed American ass kicker hell-bent on having his Rattlesnake energy drinks accompany him on his tour of Paris. The reason for his arrival? To shoot up a Chinese restaurant, dismantle bad guys and stop a terrorist threat made on an upcoming American-Franco summit in the French capital. Along the way, audiences will be treated to one-liners, a copious amount of “motherf*ckers,” and way too much entertainment.
Straight away when watching this movie, one could detect that something is amiss. A sappy first act is followed by the human tornado of Travolta’s Charlie Wax mixed with a furious sledgehammer of gunshots, through-the-window action and explosions that shake the foundation of a barely palatable story. It’s a roller-coaster of mayhem, poor acting and guilty fun. One could choose to look at From Paris With Love two ways. 1) as a campy look at ’80s action films complete with heavy metal riffs after a hail of bullets concludes, phrases like “Wax always gets it done,” and the ye olde pairing of a roguish bad-ass with a wet-behind-the-ears up-and-comer who has never seen real action before or 2) the most ridiculous monstrosity of 2010.
From Paris is just too much fun to resist. It never takes itself too serious and pokes fun at itself to remind audiences that, no, we don’t take this that seriously either. It’s because of the lack of self-seriousness that makes the movie work overall. But it’s not without its major faults. For such an incongruous movie of this magnitude, it’s only fitting that Morel and Besson install nearly one of the worst endings seen this year, which almost unravels all the goodwill built up during this 90-minute ejection seat from reality.
Then again, this may be Morel and Besson’s plan. What an enigma From Paris With Love truly is.

The movie, From Paris With Love, takes place mostly in France, where a terrorist attack looks to be unfolding very soon. A young low ranking intelligence officer, played by Johnathan Meyers, that works in the office of the ambassador to France ends up getting paired up with John Travolta to help stop this attack before it happens. Travolta doesn’t really always do things by the book, and it makes for a very entertaining two hours. As you can imagine there are lots of explosions, bullets flying, and car chases. Where can i watch She’s So Lovely online?
A few years ago i saw a movie on tv called She’s So Lovely with Sean Penn, Robin Wright Penn, James Gandolfini, & John Travolta in it.
I tried going to torrentz.com to download it. Even went to youtube to watch it (even if that meant having to get up every ten minutes) but neither one had it.
Does anyone know where i can watch this movie for free?
